Domestic flights

As of May 2021, Bestfly Cabo Verde is the exclusive airline operating domestic flights in Cape Verde with a fleet of two ATR72-600 aircraft, seating up to 70 passengers. The airline serves all islands except Santo Antão and Brava.

Flights are short, between 20 and 55 minutes, but limited in frequency and usually fully booked. Flight delays and cancellations can occur, emphasising the importance of thorough planning. Many independent travellers underestimate the scarcity of flights and the potential service instability, putting them at a higher risk of being stranded during their trip. To ensure a successful island-hopping experience, we recommend allocating a minimum of two weeks to explore two to three islands, and three weeks for three to four islands.

Where and how can I book domestic flights?

As of autumn 2021, domestic flight tickets can only be purchased through authorised travel agencies, direct booking is no longer available. We do offer domestic flight bookings to our guests, exclusively as part of a comprehensive package that includes accommodation, transfers, and activities. Please note that we do not handle bookings for domestic flights as a stand-alone service.

How much do air tickets cost for internal flights?

The average cost of tickets varies from 80 to 220 euros depending on the route, period, date of purchase versus travel, refundability, possible stopover in Santiago, etc. Infants (0-2 years old) receive a 90% discount on airfare, while children (2-11 years old) pay 50% of the ticket price when flying with Bestfly Cabo Verde.

What are the luggage regulations for Bestfly Cabo Verde?

All passengers are entitled to one checked-in baggage per flight weighing up to 23kg, plus one carry-on baggage up to 5kg and within the dimensions of 55cm x 35cm x 25cm.
Infants are granted one piece weighing up to 10kg as a courtesy.
Sporting equipment, musical instruments, or any other special baggage that exceeds the size or weight limits, must be registered with the airline before departure and might be subjected to additional fees or specific procedures.

What is the recommended arrival time at the airport?

You should arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes prior to departure. Check-in close 30 minutes before departure.
