Domestic flights

Since May 2024, Cabo Verde Airlines (CVA) is the sole operator of domestic flights in Cape Verde, with a fleet including ATR72-500, Dash 8-300, and ATR 72-600 aircraft. The airline serves all islands except Santo Antão and Brava.

Flights are brief (20 to 55 minutes) but infrequent and often fully booked, leading to possible delays or cancellations. To avoid disruptions, we recommend planning a minimum of two weeks for two to three islands, or three weeks for three to four islands.

How do I book domestic flights?

We only book domestic flights as part of a comprehensive package that includes accommodation, transfers and activities. We do not offer stand-alone flight bookings.

How much do domestic flights cost?

Ticket prices range from €100 to €220, depending on route, date and other factors. Infants (0-2 years) receive a 90% discount and children (2-11 years) pay 50% of the ticket price.

What is the baggage policy for internal flights?

Passengers are allowed one piece of checked baggage up to 23kg, one piece of carry-on baggage up to 5kg (55cm x 35cm x 25cm) and one portable stroller, bassinet or baby seat, plus baby food, which is collected at the boarding gate.
Sports equipment and special items must be registered in advance and may be subject to additional charges.

What is the recommended time of arrival at the airport?

Arrive at least 90 minutes prior to departure. Check-in closes 40 minutes prior to departure.
